MID-MONTH Tuesday to Thursday, October to April

January and February are the annual low; October and November are the second window. July and August are the peak for both price and scarcity, and in Torrevieja they are simply not available in the centre: the ordinance grants no space reservations from 1 July to 31 August.

Month by month

Month end, Fridays and July-August are the three expensive moments. Mid-month, Tuesday to Thursday, October to April is when the same move costs less and there is availability.

The bar shows relative demand, not exact price. July and August combine three things: school holidays, seasonal rental turnover and loading heat, and all three push the same way.

Calendar questions

Frequently asked
What is the cheapest month to move?

January and February. It is the annual low for demand, availability is good and operators negotiate. October and November are the second-best window, with better weather.

Is August really more expensive?

Yes, and twice over: the rate rises and availability falls. On the Costa Blanca there is a third factor almost nobody mentions: in Torrevieja the town hall does not grant centre space reservations at all through July and August.

Why is the end of the month dearer?

Because rental contracts end then and demand concentrates into five or six days. Between the 10th and the 20th the same lorry is free and costs less.

How much can I save by picking the date well?

The documented weekend surcharge alone is 15 to 25%. Added to the seasonal differential, shifting the same move from a Friday in late July to a Tuesday in mid-October is the largest price change you can make without changing firm.

How far ahead should I book in summer?

Weeks, not days. And remember the permit clock runs in parallel: ten days in Torrevieja, so booking a lorry for next week is pointless if the permit will not arrive.

Does the heat actually matter?

In August, yes: loading at midday on this coast is punishing and work goes slower, which on an hourly quote translates directly into money. That is a reasoned effect rather than a measured one, and we flag it as such.
