This is one of the most common situations on this coast and one of the worst explained. It can be commissioned from abroad, by phone or email, with access to the property and written authorisation. What has to be settled first is who has the authority to order it, not who does the work.

This is the step people skip and the only one that can cause real trouble. If the estate has not been accepted and there are several heirs, disposing of the contents can have legal consequences. Ask the lawyer or gestor handling the estate before you give the instruction.
Separate what does not get thrown away
Documents, photographs, jewellery, deeds and correspondence. Ask for all of it to be set aside in a box and kept, not valued. It is what people most regret afterwards.
Get a fixed quote after a visit or a video walk-through
In person or a full video walk-through. A price given without seeing the house does not survive the first wardrobe.
Sort access and the permit
Keys, the community, and the street occupation permit if a skip or lorry is needed. In the gated communities of Orihuela Costa the managing agent usually has to be told in advance.
Insist on the waste disposal certificate
And keep it. In an estate it evidences that the property was handed over empty and that waste went to an authorised handler.

That is a common scenario and it is quoted separately, because it means protective equipment, disinfection and more trips to an authorised handler. Say so at the start: it is worse if it surfaces on the day.
