Occupying the road or pavement with a lorry, a furniture hoist or a reserved bay is private use of the public domain, and that always gets authorised. What changes between municipalities is the fee and the notice: 10 days in Torrevieja, 72 hours recommended in Alicante, 24 hours of signage in Guardamar. You need a permit at both addresses, not one. Origin and destination are two separate occupations of the public way, on two streets, often in two different municipalities, with two fees and two notice periods. Almost no competitor page says this.

What reading the ordinances turned up
The four findingsChapter V of its ordinance, articles 95 to 99, is the only chapter in the province devoted solely to removals. It says no space reservations are granted in the town centre from 1 July to 31 August, nor during Holy Week, the patron festivals, or 24 December to 6 January. Which is precisely the peak of the market.
It also requires ten days' notice, the longest we foundHeading M) of its fiscal ordinance is literally “Mudanzas”, across five street bands: EUR 1.29 per m2 per day on a first-category street down to EUR 0.39 on a fifth. More than threefold between best and worst.
EUR 0.75 per m2 per day, under a heading that is literally “parking reservations for removals”. For scale, a builder's skip in the same ordinance is EUR 2.45 a day.
Its regulation requires no-parking signage 24 hours in advance. If cars are in your space when you arrive, the local police remove them. And if you occupy without having signed it, even holding the authorisation, they remove them and bill you.

How much does the permit cost?
It varies a lot. Verified: Alicante EUR 1.29 down to EUR 0.39 per m2 per day by street category; Denia EUR 0.75; Benidorm EUR 0.74 for the first 100 m2. General industry references quote EUR 50 to 150 per job, but those come from other cities.
How much notice does it need?
Between 24 hours and 10 days depending on the municipality. Guardamar wants 24 hours of advance signage; Alicante recommends 72 hours; Torrevieja requires 10 days.
What happens if we move without one?
It is unauthorised occupation and it is penalised, with fines above EUR 500 cited and a tow-away risk. The practical problem comes first though: with no signed reservation there is nowhere to put the lorry, and the crew bills you while it waits.
Who applies, me or the removals firm?
Either. Many firms handle it. What matters is that the written quote states whether it is included, which Spanish rules require it to do.
Are there legal working hours?
Where it is regulated, yes. In Torrevieja the legal window is 08:00 to 20:00, Saturdays only until 14:00, and no removals at all on Sundays or public holidays.
Can I move in Torrevieja in August?
Not with a reserved bay in the town centre: the ordinance does not grant one between 1 July and 31 August. Outside that zone, or with your own access, yes. It is the most practical fact in this guide and nobody else publishes it.
